Out of State

If you have private health insurance: Some types of health insurance, like PPO health plans, will pay for services provided by a licensed provider anywhere in the US. Other types, like HMOs, will only cover routine services when provided by an in-network provider that is within the plans service and in a specific area. Both HMOs and PPOs must cover emergency services anywhere in the US.

If you don’t have health insurance or out-of-state coverage: You may qualify for low- or no-cost health coverage AHCCCS or the Affordable Care Act. Visit healthcare.gov to find out if you qualify.

Before you head out of state, check with your insurance company to see if you can use your health coverage to pay for services.
